美国留学必知：学位的分类

　　一、副学士学位（Associate Degree）

　　也称作准学士学位，读完两年制社区大学或职业技术学院所得到学位。在学术学习课程以外，美国的高等院校还为高级职业培训提供实践课程。这种课程一般由两年制的“社区大学”提供。学生完成两年的学习后，除了发给证书和文凭以外，还可以获得“副学士学位”。

　　具体的学位如下：

　　AA（Associate of Arts）：文学副学士学位

　　AS（Associate of Science）：理学副学士学位

　　AAS（Associate in Applied Science）：应用科学副学士学位

　　ABA（Associate of Business Administration）：工商管理副学士学位

　　ABS（Associate of Baccalaureate Studies）：副学士学位

　　AOS（Associate of Occupational Studies）：职业副学士学位

　　ASN（Associate of Science in Nursing）：护理理学副学士学位

　　AST（Associate in Specialized Technology）：专业技术副学士学位

　　二、学士学位（Bachelor Degree）

　　美国学生获得的学位一般是“文学学士（BA）”或“理学学士（BS）”，在完成为期四年的学业以后颁发。在头两年学习期间，美国学生要学习普通学科领域的一些必修课程，第二年结束后选择一门（或两门）专业课，剩下的两年就学习这些学科领域内的课程（尽管他们并不受其限制）。获得学士学位以后，多数美国人会结束他们的“学习生涯”，开始找工作。我们把以获得BA/BS学位为目标的四年制课程学习称作“本科学习”。

　　文学学士B.A.或者A.B.（Bachelor ofArts）：属于人文、艺术或社会科学的领域，如文学、教育、艺术、音乐：

　　Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science B.A.CS 计算机文学士

　　Bachelor of Arts in Music B.A.Mus,B.Mus 音乐艺术学士

　　理学学士B.S.（Bachelor of Science）：属基础学科领域，如数学、物理、信息等。

　　三、硕士学位（Master Degree）

　　在美国有超过1000所学校提供硕士学位，大体分为偏学术型和偏授课型。偏学术型的多授予于Master ofScience等学位，某些学院开设的MS学位是为读博做准备的，还有些学院的博士项目，如果读不下来，修够一定的学分可以授予硕士学位；偏授课型或应用型，多授予MasterofArts学位，应用型硕士的代表当属MBA了。

　　大多数纯文科的硕士如教育学硕士、社会学硕士、传媒学硕士等需要读两年的时间，大多数理工科硕士如生物学硕士、计算机专业硕士等也是需要读两年的时间，艺术类硕士大部分也是读较快的时间，商科除MBA外大部分硕士读一年到一年半，法学硕士一年。
